Safety Compliance Inspections
Electrical Safety
Safe Inspect’s A Grade Electricians will complete a comprehensive Safety inspection of your home’s electrical wiring, switchboard, appliances and fittings to ensure that they are safe and compliant.
Under the latest amendments to the Residential Tenancies Act that came into effect on 31 March 2021, Electrical Safety Inspections are required every two years.
Gas Safety
Safe Inspect’s Licenced/Registered Type A Servicing Gasfitters will complete a comprehensive safety inspection of your home’s gas appliances, installations and fittings to protect occupants from harmful gas leaks.

Smoke Alarm Safety
Our A Grade Electricians are extensively trained in the correct installation and location of smoke alarms. We replace batteries and faulty smoke detectors at our cost price.

Minimum Standards Compliance Inspection
On 29 March 2021 the Residential Tenancies Act 1997 (Vic) made it mandatory for rental properties to meet the minimum standards on or before the tenant moves in. If the property doesn’t meet the minimum standards, renters can end their rental agreement (lease) before moving in or request an urgent repair. Our comprehensive report assesses the properties compliance against 14 primary categories that are defined in the act as minimum standards.

Why You May Need A Safety Inspection
Whether for legislation, buying or selling a house, or just for safety and peace of mind, safety inspections can benefit more than just real estate agents.
As of March 2021, legislation was introduced to the Residential Tenancy Agreement that stated all rental properties were required to have a Gas and Electrical Safety Inspection every 2 years, and a smoke alarm inspection every 12 months. Real estate agents and landlords must ensure that these inspections are carried out.
Safety inspections are also a great idea if you are buying or selling a house, to ensure that the property is compliant and safe for you or the next resident. We also recommend that homeowners get their house inspected regularly, to ensure you, your family, pets and property are safe, especially if your home is 25 years or older.
